About Naturopathy

What Is It?

Sometimes also referred  to as ‘Naturopathic Medicine’ or  ‘Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy’

We take the time to listen to your goals, wants and needs – your initial consultation lasts up to an hour and a half.  We get to the bottom of any imbalances in your nutritional and health statuses, we will agree a plan to support your health based on what we identify.

This is a very individualised service – no one plan suits everyone.  This is why some people (including ‘experts’) sometimes swear by one type of  ‘diet’, while others are made worse by it.  We fully  understand why  this is and how frustrating it might have been to have tried non-individualised treatments.

We will include;  a Nutritional Plan, lifestyle advice and recommend dietary supplements and Functional (laboratory) tests if necessary.

Whether you are generally well or struggling with a health issue, we will support your body’s needs and give the best chance of feeling good.

Initial Consultation

Your initial consultation will last between 1 and 1 1/2 hours:  Your practitioner will assist you in completing a few basic forms regarding your visit.

The practitioner will then take your case history in the  clinic room. With your permission, your weight, height, waist and hip measurements will be taken for reference purposes. For ease, you may like to take these measurements at home beforehand. You will be asked various questions about your health and lifestyle.

The practitioner may look at your tongue, nails, teeth and take your blood pressure too as they help to inform the nutrition protocol.

No internal examinations are performed at the clinic and no disease state diagnoses are made.

There will be an interval of about a week, during which the practitioner will consider the case and formulate your nutrition plan.

We will arrange another appointment at your visit,  if not before, so that you can return to the clinic room for about 30 minutes where you will be given your plan.

What do you need to bring?

  • A list of all pharmaceutical medicines and supplements you are currently taking
  • Any recent medical test results if available
  • Your completed Diet Diary (this will be explained)
  • Your weight, height, hip (widest, fullest area) and waist (narrowest point between hip and ribs, measured whilst breathing out) measurements.

You can bring these items to your appointment in hard copy or send them by email.
